Programs Offered

The International Kenpo Academy (IKA) will award such Degrees as Master of Arts in Kenpo or Doctor of Philosophy in Kenpo based on the following requirements. According to the rules of the Academy, student who until admission to the Academy held a Kenpo master's degree:

- from 3rd Dan or higher, will be able to qualify for Master Degree in Kenpo (MA K)
- from 5th Dan or higher, will be able to qualify for Doctorate Degree in Kenpo (PhD K).

To complete the course, all students of the International Kenpo Academy (IKA) must fulfill the following tests:

- applicants for Master Degree in Kenpo need to write a coursework
- applicants for Doctorate Degree in Kenpo need to write a thesis.

The Academic Council of the International Kenpo Academy (IKA) awards above named Academic degrees in the Art of Kenpo and Philosophy under its own authority to develop its own accreditation system and curriculum. Certainly, all above Academic degrees are not to be confused with traditional Academic degrees. Academic degrees, which were assigned by our Academy on the basis of qualification tests, need to show professional status of holders within the Kenpo Community only.

Notes

- A student who until admission to the International Kenpo Academy (IKA) held an academic Master Degree in Psychology (Psy.M.), after qualification tests can be awarded the Doctorate Degree of Psychology in Kenpo (PsyD K).
- A student who is applying for the Doctorate Degree of Psychology in Kenpo (PsyD K), until admission to the Academy must also held a Kenpo master's degree 4th Dan or higher.
- In exceptional cases, by decision of the Academic Council of the Academy, applicant may be awarded of the honorary Doctorate Degree in Kenpo (PhD K, honoris causa).

Structure of Qualification Tests

As mentioned above, the Academic Council of the International Kenpo Academy (IKA) will award Master or Doctorate Degree in Kenpo on the basis of tests. Therefore, the structure of qualification test for each applicants on above named Academic degrees as follows:

- a coursework for Master Degree in Kenpo should contain the topic on 1 page with minimal basic content on 5 pages plus bibliography briefs (totals of at least 6 pages)
- a thesis for Doctorate Degree in Kenpo should contain the topic on 1 page with minimal basic content on 9 pages plus bibliography briefs (totals of at least 10 pages).

All qualification tests by an external degree course of study that will be sent to our Academy should be in English.

Academic Ranks

The International Kenpo Academy (IKA) will award the Academic ranks as Associate Professor in Kenpo as well Professor in Kenpo. Let everyone know that requirements, which the Academy makes to the applicants for these Academic ranks, are highest. Nevertheless, these requirements are as follows.

The Academic Rank an Associate Professor in Kenpo (Assoc.Prof. K) can be awards to the applicant:

- who hold 5th Dan or higher, and also hold degree the Doctor of Philosophy in Martial Arts (PhD MA), or the Doctor of Philosophy in Kenpo (PhD K)
- who hold degree at least ABD PhD MA (All But Dissertation of the Doctor of Philosophy in Martial Arts), or ABD PhD K (All But Dissertation of the Doctor of Philosophy in Kenpo).
- who has a Kenpo career totals 30 years and more.

The Academic Rank a Professor in Kenpo (Prof. K) can be awards to the applicant:

- who hold 7th Dan or higher, and also hold rank the Associate Professor in Kenpo in for 5 years and more
- who has lifetime achievements as flawless with his Kenpo career totals 40 years and more.

In exceptional cases, by decision of the Academic Council of the Academy, applicant may be awarded of the honorary Professor Degree in Kenpo (Prof. K, honoris causa).

The Academic Council as well Senate members of the International Kenpo Academy (IKA) will award the Academic ranks in the Art of Kenpo and Philosophy only those who holds the highest standart to which we always aspire in the activities of our Academy.
